The Tennessee Titans have informed wide receiver Robert Woods that he is being released to free agency. After this news broke the wide receiver tweeted out one word: “free”. Last March the team traded for Woods in exchange for a 2023 sixth-round pick with the Los Angeles Rams. With this move, the team saves 12 million dollars against the cap and takes on just under three million dollars in dead cap space. With this move, Woods will be free to sign with any NFL team of his choosing during the offseason period.

This season with the Tennessee Titans, Robert Woods caught 53 passes for 527 yards and two touchdowns on 91 targets. Woods was recovering from an ACL injury this season and was on a team that does not prioritize throwing the ball. This became a bigger issue when quarterback Ryan Tannehill went down with an injury and the team threw the ball even less. Woods will likely have several teams interested in his services next season and a return to the Los Angeles Rams is likely not out of the question. Woods seems happy about hitting free agency and will be able to sign later in the offseason.
