January 28 proved to be a crowded release day as expected. Babyface Ray, Rick Ross, Sinéad Harnett, Doe Boy, Denzel Curry, KYLE and many others chose the last Friday of January to share new music. While there were a ton of great releases this weekend, it’s hard to find one particular record that will draw more attention than “Johnny Ps Caddy” from Benny The Butcher and J. Cole. Standing as the first single from the Buffalo native’s upcoming project, Tana Talk IV, “John Ps Caddy” sets a high standard for what is to come.
“Problems, then I correct, through the obstacles I progress/And logical for them to feel they responsible for our success/Besides Con and West, tell me who else I gotta respect/’Cause I’m kinda perplexed, it’s ’bout time that I got my respect,” Benny The Butcher raps in the opening verse.
“He the last of Mohicans, no weaklings last in my sneakers/N*gga want me on a song, he gon’ see the wrath of the reaper/I’m prolly gon’ go to Hell and Jesus ask for a feature,” J. Cole adds.
Benny The Butcher has been pushing for the release of Tana Talk IV for some time now. Just a few weeks ago, he asserted that it would be the best album of the year.
“While n*ggas be talking their shit, who wanna bet my shit go crazy when I drop Tana Talk 4,” he said during an Instagram Live session.
“If anybody doubting me, who wanna bet? What we talking about? Who wanna bet me?”
Thus far, Benny The Butcher is proving his claim to be true. Check out the “Johnny Ps Caddy” video below.
