Since it’s inception in 2008, the MCU has existed almost exclusively on the big screen. Sure, there have been series here and there with varying levels of success but they’ve never really been acknowledged by the greater universe. Well, that’s all set to change when Disney+ debuts later this year. Marvel is launching a number of series on the service with direct ties to the MCU. Probably the most highly anticipated of them is the Falcon and Winter Soldier series.
FALCON & WINTER SOLDIER

Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes have been at odds with each other since their first appearances in Captain America: Winter Soldier. But, they’ve still often fought side by side because of their respect and belief in Steve Rogers. Over the course of Civil War, Infinity War, and the third act of Endgame, we’ve seen the two men begin forming a close bond. The continuation of that bond is most likely what the series will revolve around, especially now that Falcon has taken up the Captain America mantle. Bucky’s time in Wakanda also seems to have softened him up from the brainwashed Russian hitman he was before and that’s clear at the end of Endgame when he encourages Sam to take the shield from Steve. We’ll probably see Sam struggling to live up to Steve’s legacy and Bucky, as Steve’s closest friend, encouraging him to form his own legacy as Cap.
LOKI

But, that’s not the only Marvel series dropping on Disney+ in the next couple of years. We’re also going to get more Tom Hiddleston in a Loki series. Technically, Loki’s still dead in the main MCU timeline. But, the fumbled ‘Time Heist’ in Endgame may’ve given the show free rein to tell whatever Loki stories it wants. Loki escaped with the Tesseract after the events of the first Avengers, meaning that he is now possibly out in the universe somewhere just waiting for trouble to find him. I don’t know if they’ll carry on that storyline or just tell stories from Loki’s past but either way, I’m expecting a quasi-anthology series from Loki. Almost like Doctor Who but instead of helping people and saving the universe, Loki will just pop around causing general mischief wherever he can.
HAWKEYE

Jeremy Renner has already been confirmed for the Disney+ series that will show the journey of ‘Hawkeye’. While Disney and Marvel have both declined to comment on the production, the idea is reportedly in the works. Renner recently returned to his role as the Arrow shooting sniper in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ after being absent since ‘Age of Ultron’ in 2012. Regardless, this show is set to be a coming-of-age show about Renner’s daughter and teaching her the craft of ‘Arrow’. If you remember in ‘Endgame’, at the start of the film, he’s teaching his daughter how to shoot. That could be the plot to the series.
WANDAVISION

If you recall ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ revolved around the relationship of the Scarlett Witch (Wanda) and & Vision. In Scotland, Vision & Wanda are attacked by Thanos’ minions in order to extract the Infinity stone that’s engraved in Vision’s skull. In the end, Vision is killed and Wanda is devastated and evaporated so if this show happens, it would probably be a prequel. There are also comics where Vision & Scarlett Witch fuse together to become ‘Wandavision’. With the name of the show titled that, it would be surprising if somehow this show details Wanda trying to deal with the loss Vision while also having him ‘inside her head’.
Avengers: Endgame is in theaters now.
