Armando Bacot’s ankle injury had the North Carolina Tar Heels fearful in the final minutes of the 2022 Final Four matchup against the Duke Blue Devils. While he did return to that game and help the Tar Heels beat their arch-rivals the Duke Blue Devils there was still some concern about his ankle heading into Monday. When asked about it the North Carolina big man said ” my right foot would have to be cut off for me not to play tomorrow”. North Carolina plays the Kansas Jayhawks on Monday night for the 2022 National Championship.
“My status for tomorrow is that I’m playing. No chance I don’t play in the National Championship Game. My right leg would have to be cut off for me not to play.” @UNC_Basketball‘s Armando Bacot gives us an update on his ankle he injured in last night’s win over Duke. @WFMY pic.twitter.com/I12lKO2brW

Armando Bacot has been the driving force for the North Carolina Tar Heels this season and without him, it would be hard to win. The junior big man is averaging 16.3 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.7 blocks per game this season. He is pairing those numbers with a field goal percentage of 57.9 percent and a free throw percentage of 66.8 percent.
Armando Bacot has secured his 30th double-double of the season, breaking a tie with Tim Duncan for the most in season in ACC history.
Bacot is the first player with 30 in a season since Blake Griffin in 2008-09, and is one shy of the record set by David Robinson in 1985-86. pic.twitter.com/aUKpidZSIz
