Armando Bacot now holds two major career accolades with the North Carolina Tar Heels after his performances against the North Carolina State Wolfpack. The North Carolina big man now holds the program records for career double-doubles and career rebounds. He passed Billy Cunningham with his 61st career double-double and passed Tyler Hansbrough with his 1,220 career rebound. In the team’s 80-69 win over the North Carolina State Wolfpack on Saturday, Bacot recorded 23 points, 18 rebounds, and one assist. Bacot needed one double-double and 17 rebounds entering the game to break the two North Carolina records.

In his four-year career with the North Carolina Tar Heels, Bacot is averaging 13.7 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game. With over a month left in regular season play plus the post-season Bacot will likely make the next big man coming for the records work even harder than him. While nothing is for certain Bacot is eligible to return to North Carolina for a fifth season if he wanted to. This season Bacot is chasing the ACC Player of the Year Award, the National Player of the Year Award, and most importantly, a National Championship. Bacot has cemented himself as one of the best Tar Heels to ever play the sport of basketball.
