Aminé is back outside!
Portland’s poet heads back into the fray after a rather quiet 2024 that has brought a remix of Charli XCX’s “360″ and “Nasty” with Cochise to the internet. However, he’s taking the lead this time around with a two-pack that includes production from Dahi, a guest verse from Smino and much more.
“Passenger Princess” catches the majority of headlines because it brings the Limbo artist and the St. Louis stylist together on a track for the first time. Backed by a hypnotic Pamela Long sample, Aminé and Smino seemingly float as they rap about passive aggressive partners and fiery relationships that can occasionally be toxic.
“Sometimes, she’s hungry. Sometimes, she’s jealous. Sometimes, she’s wrong,” Smino raps.
“[They] say life is a b—h. I guess I know more ’bout that b—h than I thought.”
“Adam” also touches on the ills of passive aggressive partners and the challenges pride can create in a relationship. However, the track moves slower than “Passenger Princess,” allowing Aminé to twist and turn between his Rap delivery and R&B-leaning melodies.
“Put your pride aside [and] come walk with me. I cater to you. Please tell me what you need. Baby, hit a smile. Dial my phone and stay a while. I don’t care about the miles,” Aminé sings.
“Adam” and “Passnger Princess” set the tone for the Portland native’s next chapter. More than a year removed from Kaytraminé, fans eagerly await for what “Passenger Princess” and “Adam” can lead to in the future.
