Alycia Baumgardner is originally from Ohio, but she has found a second home in the Motor City working alongside former 154-pound champion Tony Harrison. By building bonds with key figures in the city and winning world titles abroad, she has set herself up for a homecoming bout in July. According to multiple sources, Baumgardner is expected to fight in her adopted hometown on July 15 on DAZN against Christina Linardatou. All plans have not been finalized just yet, but the bout is expected to be aired on DAZN.
Christina Linardatou is not just any opponent. She holds the distinction of being the only fighter to hand Baumgardner a loss as a pro. The two-time WBO female junior-welterweight champion has a professional record of 13-2 with six knockouts. Aside from Baumgardner, she has also shared the ring with pound-for-pound talents like Katie Taylor and Delfine Persoon. However, she came up short in decision losses to both women.
Alongside Baumgardner, another midwestern fighter by the name of Montana Love is set to return to the ring. After suffering his first loss as a pro, Love will look to snatch the undefeated record of 140-pound prospect Richardson Hitchins.
