The Power universe has grown just a bit bigger. On Monday, December 4, actress Aliyah Turner secured a recurring role in the third season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan on Starz. Turner will reportedly play the role of Krystal. She is described as a “primped and pompous queen bee from the Bronx who will do whatever it takes to steal the spotlight.”
Turner is a UCLA product best known for her role as Ayanna Jackson in USA’s mini-series, Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. She also studied under Celik Kayalar at Film Acting Bay Area (FABA) and appeared in FABA’s web series, The Traffick. In her latest role, she will join Kanan, played by Mekai Curtis, as he, Raquel, Marvin and Lou-Lou rebound from the coordinated attack that ended season two.
Season three of Power Book III: Raising Kanan debuted on Friday, December 1. A surprising death, an important decision and tension that could be cut with a knife left critics saying it is the “best series” within the Power universe.
“The ’90s set prequel is the undeniable standout in the ‘Power Universe,’ chronicling Kanan’s teen years and showcasing the environment and circumstances that caused him to break bad,” Aramide Tinubu of Variety wrote.
Episode two of the show’s third season is set to debut on Friday, December 8. Turner is set to make her Power debut in the episodes to come.
