Head Coach Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs have landed the commitment of top international prospect Alex Toohey. The NBA Global Academy power forward is ranked as a four-star prospect heading into the 2023 recruiting class. Several schools including the Villanova Wildcats, Davidson Wildcats, and Florida Gators, as well as others, had an interest in the power forward. This is the first international prospect that Mark Few had landed for the program since the departure of assistant coach Tommy Lloyd. Arizona has landed several top international prospects with Lloyd as the Head Coach.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs have built a powerhouse program under the leadership of Mark Few. Landing talented recruits that will stay for a few years is the key to that success. Alex Toohey hopes to make the NBA one day and Gonzaga is no stranger to getting guys to that level. He will likely play for the program for at least two years, but that will depend on his role in his freshman year and on how well he plays. He should play in the NBA one day after a good career with the Bulldogs.
Highlights of Alex Toohey. The 6’8, 18-year-old wing’s combination of size, feel for the game, toughness and ability to play all over the floor gives him significant potential as a college player and could ultimately help him emerge as an NBA prospect at Gonzaga. pic.twitter.com/0TH9zxUnMa

Gonzaga has had many international prospects come through the program and some of them have played well in the NBA after their time with the Bulldogs. Alex Toohey hopes to join those ranks after his time with the Bulldogs. Mark Few is one of the best coaches in basketball and he will maximize the ability of his new recruit. Toohey joins 2023 four-star small forward Dusty Stromer as the two recruits committed to the Bulldogs right now.
