The Chicago Bulls will be without guard Alex Caruso in game five against the Milwaukee Bucks due to concussion protocol. This is a devastating blow to a team that has fought and continues to fight injuries all season. Caruso did not travel with the team to Milwaukee on Tuesday, but there was still some hope he’d be able to play until he failed to pass concussion protocol on Wednesday morning. Milwaukee currently leads the series 3-1 and could close the Bulls out in game five in their home stadium.

In his first season with the Chicago Bulls, Alex Caruso averaged 7.4 points, 4.0 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game. His steals per game finished second on the team in the regular season. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 39.8 percent and a three-point percentage of 33.3 percent. Caruso’s defense coming off the bench or starting was his key contribution to the team this season. Without him, Zach LaVine, and Lonzo Ball the Bulls’ chances of winning look bleak.

Milwaukee is also missing a key player in Khris Middleton and is hoping to end this series as quickly as possible so he is ready to play in the second round of the 2022 NBA Playoffs. DeMar DeRozan will have something to say about that plan, but he has limited help on the court with most of the team’s guards down for one reason or another. Game five between the Chicago Bulls and the Milwaukee Bucks is set to tip off Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. EST.
