We have seen our fair share of sneaker inspired accessories, for example; phone cases, key chains, clocks, rugs, storage chest, the list goes on. The sneaker culture is thriving right now as every release now is a must have release for the average sneakerhead (I use that word lightly). From young to old, sneakers are that “IT” thing. Celebrities are even more in-tuned with the lifestyle, hell even brands like Sprite and others dabble into the world of sneakers here and there.
What could possible be done next to outdo the others? Well after stumbling upon this information, I was blown away. I had no idea it was possible to make a sneaker out of LEGO pieces, then again we have seen just about everything made out of LEGOs except for sneakers and to be more specific here, Air Jordans.
That was until recently word has been spreading that Tom Yoo or Tom Yoo via: instagram has announced his entry into LEGO Ideas (which I had no idea existed) to get his Air Jordan 11 LEGO concepts/ideas produced.
Tom Yoo needs 10,000 votes to get the idea of the Air Jordans LEGO idea to even be considered for approval so head on over to LEGO Ideas and vote…I will be.
Here’s what Tom Yoo had to say;
This is arguably the greatest sneaker of all time.
Created by Nike/Jordan brand’s genius-designer Tinker Hatfield, the Jordan XI was originally released in this white, black and dark concord colorway in 1995.
Following MJ’s insight of bringing a formal look to the court, Hatfield broke ground by using patent leather for the first time in an athletic shoe. Other signature elements for the XI included a ballistic mesh upper, carbon fiber spring plate, etc. The rest is history.
Only existing Lego elements were used, except logos/decals and custom color for the icy sole.
If produced and well-received, more colorways can be released including the Space Jam, Bred, Legend Blue, etc.

Now, if only you could wear some LEGOS…
