The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Shattered Backboard‘ is a colorway I didn’t see coming simply because I have never heard of the event that influenced it.
Back when we first got wind of this new colorway it was made known that it was influenced by the exhibition game that was held in Italy by Nike back in 1985 (the year the 1s dropped). In said exhibition game, MJ shattered the backboard, yeah I know I said it last time but me writing it again still sounds surreal because I never heard of this occurrence.
Now the colorway isn’t inspired specifically by the shattering of the rim – the insole says other wise – but it is the colors of the jersey that MJ wore for Team Nike.
