You know the saying, “you learn something new everyday”? Well this is case in point. Today we have ourselves a first look at the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Shattered Backboard’. Now what’s the correlation between the colorway/nickname and Michael Jordan? Your guess would be just as good as mine, no clue.
Well it appears back in 1985 during a Nike Exhibition Game in Italy, his Airness shattered the backboard with a dunk. Now it didn’t happen in the NBA so that explains why I didn’t know about it or have never even heard about this occurring. Maybe an avid Jordan fan or old head has but this is news to me.
Regardless the pair looks to be coming soon as they are decked out with extra laces and in the insole you notice a rim with glass to indicate the shattered backboard.
