The Milwaukee Bucks have announced that they will hire Toronto Raptors assistant coach Adrian Griffin as the franchise’s next Head Coach. For the past few offseasons, Griffin has been named as a potential candidate for several open jobs as a Head Coach. He has even interviewed for some positions but had not been chosen until now. The Milwaukee Bucks fired Head Coach Mike Budenholzer this offseason after the team was eliminated in the first round by the Miami Heat. With the team clearly considering themselves serious contenders, the Bucks will be looking to change things up next year.

Adrian Griffin is a former NBA player who turned his attention to coaching after retiring from his playing career. His son AJ Griffin is currently a member of the Atlanta Hawks and just completed his first season in the league. The team reportedly came down to Griffin or Golden State Warriors assistant coach Kenny Atkinson. Milwaukee Bucks star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo reportedly offered his support for Griffin and the team made their decision on Saturday with that in mind. Winning another NBA Championship is the primary goal for the Bucks and they hope that Griffin will be able to get them there next season.
