”No, No, No” *waves finger* “Not in my house”.
Words made famous by Mutombo himself.
Actually this release of his second signature shoe would be more than welcomed in my house. The return of the adidas Originals Mutombo II is flying under the radar for the most part but I am almost positive with more color ways fans will warm up to them.
In the meantime the folks over at Foot Locker have provided release details to help aid in the purchase of these. Take a look at them and let us know will they be a DEF Cop or DEF Not.
From the Crazy 1 to the T Macs to the Mutombos, adidas has been steady in their output of retro basketball sneakers. This weekend we’ll see another join the wall in the adidas Mutombo II. Last year we had the pleasure of welcoming the original Mutombos back to Foot Locker. Now, the former All-Star center and the NBA’s all time leader in blocks,Dikembe Mutombo, will have his second signature shoe re-released. Saturday’s Mutombo II will be an OG black and red colorway – the same colorway Mutombo wore during the 1994 NBA Playoffs when his Denver Nuggets stunned the top seeded Seattle Supersonics in the first round. Features of the Mutombo II include a number of overlays on the upper, Mutombo’s name across the tongue, and his brand logo on the heel.
The adidas Originals Mutombo II in a black and red colorway will drop at Foot Locker stores and Footlocker.com (starting at 8am EDT) on Saturday, May 10th for $110. Check the Launch Locatorto see if which stores will carry the release.
