Say what you please about the three stripes but adidas has had a year worth a celebration. Led by the adidas Yeezy Boost, there has been other bright spots like Pharrell’s line, Pusha T’s instant seller King Push sneakers and the list goes on. We recently have been seeing talks and concepts of new innovations from adidas like their 3D Printed sneaker or their ocean plastic constructed shoe. Clearly being innovative is not a field they lack in and that shows with the upcoming adidas NMD Runner.
Here is the history of the sneaker as adidas provides so background information.
Referencing progressive styles like the micro pacer, the rising star and the boston super, the NMD gives archival elements a modern context, jolting the iconography surrounding our most celebrated products and merging them with unparalleled modern engineering.
They didn’t stop there, adidas then spoke on the construction of the sneaker as far materials and what helped form the runner and its performance.
The NMD_R1 is born from an audacious combination of shape, angles, and materials on an iconic color-blocked foundation that pays homage to innovative elements rooted in our collective memory. Designed without compromise, a modern upper construction, an exaggerated silhouette and bold archival details comprise the dynamic concept. The NMD’s midsole is elevated with durable, shock-resistant and responsive boost technology. The upper, meanwhile, utilizes the integrity of primeknit, boasting new levels of flexibility, stability and strength.
A lot to take in but from the sound of things and from what I see the sneakers look like they deserve more than just a look-see but an actual purchase nonetheless. Speaking of that these are slated to release this December 12, 2015 globally for the retail price of $170 on the adidas.com/nmd website and reservations are opening December 10, 2015 starting at 1 PM EST via the adidas Confirmed App.
