LSU is counting on a handful of transfers this year to help fill the void of Will Wade losing four starters from last season’s team. They just found out they will be without their Illinois transfer guard Adam Miller who was diagnosed with a torn ACL today. Miller will be out the entire season after being expected to play an important role and likely start for the Tigers.
Miller started all 31 games for the one-seed Illinois Illini last year and was a surprise transfer for a team losing its best guard in All-American Ayo Dosunmu. Miller was expected to step into that void along with rising sophomore point guard Andre Curbelo. Miller ultimately decided to leave Illinois after an up and down offensive season with his home-state school and join Will Wade’s free-flowing offense. He will now miss the entire season.

LSU will now need to turn to an inexperienced player to fill Adam Miller’s spot in the starting backcourt now. They have sophomore Eric Gaines who played very limited last year or could go bigger by adding Cincinnati transfer Tari Eason or Shareef O’Neal to the starting lineup. Either way, they go they may now need to count on one of their incoming freshman guards to step up to beef up the rotation unless they decide to keep a shallow bench.
