If there’s one positive trend that has come out of this trying time in our country, it is the movement of public figures giving back to their communities. Drake, The Weeknd, BTS and a number of other public figures have given back by donating to social justice organizations. Elsewhere, Floyd Mayweather Jr. covered the funeral experiences for George Floyd. Joining in, A Boogie has opted to give back by elevating the educational opportunities for children in the area.
A Boogie has announced that he donated $100,000 to his old elementary school, P.S. 126. The donation will come in the form of laptops and tablets. In addition, the New York native has announced that he will be releasing the deluxe version of his latest album, Artist 2.0, on June 19th.
“With everything going on in the world, I believe it’s important to invest in the youth because by doing so, we are investing in a better future. I can’t wait to see y’all soon but until then, stay safe and take care of each other,” he wrote.
The New York native is not new to philanthropy. In 2017, he partnered with Garden Dreams Foundation for back to school giveaway. More recently, he and Lil’ Uzi Vert donated $50,000 to UNICEF’s Hurricane Dorian relief fund.
A Boogie continues to push the culture forward both in and out of the studio. Check out the deluxe version of Artist 2.0 later this month.
