Debuting in December, One Night In Miami marked the start of Regina King’s career as a director. Chronicling a potential encounter between four icons in American history, the film set the stage a potential Academy Award nomination. Unfortunately, it was not named as one of the final eight films selected for the “Best Picture” award. Fortunately, Leslie Odom Jr. was nominated in the “Best Supporting Actor” category. Adding on, he was nominated for “Best Orginal Song” at the 93rd Academy Awards. Celebrating the nomination, Odom Jr. was offered the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to not only attend the Academy Awards as a nominee, but he also stepped foot on stage as a performer.
“I swear we’ll never find a way to where we’re going, all alone. Don’t take your eyes off the road. Can you hear the bells ring out? Speak now,” he sang.
“Oh, can’t you hear the angels? Speak now!”
Leslie Odom Jr. is not the only performer to take part in the Academy Awards pre-show ceremony, H.E.R, Celeste and several others will take part in the incredible event. Check out Odom Jr.’s performance below.
