While losing and being at the bottom of the standings in the Eastern Conference, the Philadelphia 76ers seem to have a lot of fun doing it, this time, at the expense of JaKarr Sampson. Earlier this week they presented veteran guard Jason Richardson with a present of his own for his 34th birthday and now they seem to have pranked rookie forward from St.John’s, JaKarr Sampson, pretty good as well. Between the demands of veteran teammates and being the target of pranks, rookies in the professional sports world have it rough at times and usually they play for bad teams, much like Sampson.
Sampson finds out that he had been pranked, courtesy of WPVI-TV’s Jeff Skversky:
Sampson’s teammate, sharpshooter Robert Covington, also had some videos of the prank:
It’s like Covington said, ‘sorry rook, they had to get you’. The always acrobatic and fun ‘SLAMpson’ will get his chance next year on another rookie.
