Far from being the main part of the youth movement in Philadelphia, 76ers guard Jason Richardson received a special gift from his Sixers teammates on his birthday.
Now this is good, giving the ‘old man’ on the team some baby food, with adult diapers, classic.
While he’s been out all of this season, Richardson is actually close to a return, according to reports, and he could add some consistent veteran leadership for the team.
Surprised that the former high-flyer hasn’t hung it up by now but you got to commend his efforts for trying to come back still to play for the Sixers even though Philadelphia is near the bottom of the NBA in the standings. Philadelphia is also on pace to be the youngest team in NBA history, and Richardson is far from the 23 year old average age of Philadelphia, in fact, he’s the oldest player on the team.
At 34 though, beyond this season, there might not be a big market for the 2-time slam dunk champion especially considering he hasn’t played in an NBA game since the end of the 2013 season. He missed all of last season and has missed the first half of this year as well.
Still, Richardson was an exciting player and if you need a refresher course, here’s Richardson’s amazing dunks from the dunk contests he won.
