The 2023 NBA Finals goes back to Denver with two very different scenarios for each team. The Miami Heat are traveling with hopes of extending the series and Denver is focused on getting their first ring in franchise history in front of their fans. As always, player props are some of the most interesting bets to look for in any sport. We here at Def Pen Sports have three props for game five.
Michael Porter Jr Points 14+ (+125) (Odds via Mybookie)
Michael Porter Jr. has always been a scoring option for the Denver Nuggets and has excelled at it in his first years in the league. During the Finals, he has been on and off in the scoresheet with five and two points scored in games 2 and 3 respectively. However, he jumped back to 11 points as the Nuggets stole a second win in the Heat’s home arena. We trust Porter Jr to have the scoring outburst we have been waiting for him in this Finals.
Michael Porter Jr Rebounds 8+ (+164) (Odds via Mybookie)
The Heat’s offense has been struggling in the Finals. Shots are not falling and the opportunity for rebounds has been there for Denver. In Game 3 in Miami, there were three Nuggets’ players surpassing the 10 rebound mark and Jokic went for 21 boards in that game. As for Porter Jr rebounding performances he had his best in the first game with 14 and then followed with 7 rebounds and 6 rebounds in the next two games.
Max Strus Points 10+ (+130) (Odds via Mybookie)
It’s time to talk about Miami. For the Heat, the scoring distribution has been focused on Jimmy and Bam but performances from Gabe Vincent, Duncan Robinson and even Max Strus have helped them to stay competitive in the games. When talking about Strus in specific he hasn’t been at his best in the Finals. The one good performance from his was in Game 2 where he scored four three-pointers in the game. The next two games weren’t great for Strus and the Heat giving him a chance to jump back with his offensive abilities to give a spark to the Heat fans.
