Ridley Scott’s beloved Alien prequel, ‘Prometheus 2’, officially has a new name. Over the last few months the Prometheus sequel was known as, ‘Alien: Paradise Lost’, but over the weekend during Scott referred to the project as, ‘Alien: Covenant’, which sent fans into a mass confusion. Now today 20th Century Fox releases the first poster for the film and revealing that, ‘Alien: Covenant’, will in fact be the official title for the film.
Along with the logo being revealed, 20th Century Fox releases the synopsis.
Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
Covenant will begin filming in 2016 and will released October 6th, 2017.
