The DePaul Blue Demons have landed the commitment of 2022 top 40 recruit and top three shooting guard Zion Cruz. This is a massive addition for Head Coach Tony Stubblefield who is leading the DePaul Blue Demons into a new era of basketball for the program. Cruz is currently playing high school basketball for Kanye West’s Donda Academy. The talented shooting guard picked the DePaul Blue Demons over schools like the Auburn Tigers, Memphis Tigers, and Georgia Bulldogs.
4-star recruit Zion Cruz is headed to DePaul.
What a get for the Blue Demons. What a night in the Big East.

Zion Cruz is a big get for a program like the DePaul Blue Demons who are trying to better establish themselves in a tough Big East Conference. He is rated as the second-best recruit in the modern era to commit to Depaul behind class of 2007 power forward Mac Koshwal. Cruz is joining DePaul next year with unranked combo guard KT Raimey. They are the only two commits for the Blue Demons at the moment.

Zion Cruz is ranked as the 38th best prospect in the 2022 recruiting class and the second-ranked shooting guard. He is formally a four-star recruit but has five-star potential. He could end up being a program-changing player for the DePaul Blue Demon program. Head Coach Tony Stubblefield has done a great job on the court and is shaping up as a great recruiter as well.
When asked about DePaul and his commitment the guard said: “I just felt like that’s the right place”. Cruz will join the program in the fall and could eventually be playing in the NBA.
