
November 17, 2021 was a tough day for many in the city of Memphis, Tennessee and around the country. Coming into his hometown to host a holiday giveaway, Young Dolph was fatally shot and killed while patronizing a Black-owned bakery.
In the immediate aftermath, thousands of his fans, supporters, friends and family members mourned. Some visited his memorial at Makeda’s Cookies in Memphis while others posted supportive messages on social media. As time went on, his friends and members of his community came together to follow through with his holiday meal giveaway plans. Adding on, members of the city council renamed a street in his honor.
Now, thousands are making their way to the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee for a celebration of life ceremony. Though he is physically gone, his friends, business partners, family members and fans will use this moment in time to remember the father, brother, philanthropist, entrepreneur and artist that Young Dolph was.
