On Monday, January 15, 2024, FX’s The Bear won “Outstanding Comedy Series” at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards. The show has collected ten Emmy Awards during its first year of eligibility at the Emmy Awards. Most notably, Ayo Edebiri and Jeremy Allen White won “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series” and “Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series” honors earlier in the evening.
Winning “Outstanding Comedy Series” honors at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards is nothing to sneeze at. The field of nominees consisted of critically acclaimed programs like Abbott Elementary, Barry, Only Murders In The Building, Ted Lasso, The Bear, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Wednesday.
Next year, the field may include fan favorites such as The Bear, Abbott Elementary, and others, but a few names will be missing. Barry and Ted Lasso have each come to a close after successful runs at HBO and Apple TV+. Not to mention, it’s unclear when Jury Duty will return to Prime Video for a second season. Regardless, the “Outstanding Comedy Series” category promises to be just as stacked in 2025.
