What a game to cap off a great All-Star Weekend. I cannot be more satisfied with what I have seen this past weekend and this game was a must watch from start to finish.
Where do I start? LeBron James was the first to make a statement. Dropping the first points of the All-Star Game and he continued to make great plays as the game went on. Then came James Harden, dropping 11 points in quick succession. Stephen Curry was dropping dimes like we’ve never seen! He even got Dirk Nowitzki to dunk! That is not a typo.
Dirk Nowitzki. Dunked! The last time he dunked. 11 years ago!
The two squads were putting all their moves on each other. It all culminated into an amazing exhibition. Breaking records once again. Most combined points, most 3 pointer attempts by a team, (East) most combined 3 attempts and makes, most 3’s made by a team (West).
But the three records that truly stood out tonight. Were all individual. Enter. Russell Westbrook. 41 points. 1 point shy of the All-Star Game record. Wilt Chamberlain’s 42. Most field goals made in a half. And most points in a half. He was on fire. And on the biggest stage no less.
That is why he is your 2015 NBA All-Star Game MVP, along with some great plays.
What a game to cap off one of the best All-Star Weekends in recent memory. We have had the most stacked 3-Point Contest in it’s history. Our love for the dunk contest has been reignited thanks to Zach LaVine. We realized that the future of the NBA is not just American. But it is Canadian, European, Australian, African and It’s great to see.
And it was all wrapped up. In a All-Star Game that wasn’t short of mesmerizing.
It was a performance that will be remembered.
