This year, the BET Awards will be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The network has announced that the award show will take place on June 28th as originally scheduled, but it will use “innovative techniques and artist-generated content.”

“At BET, we place the health and safety of attendees, staff, vendors, and partners first, which is why the biggest night in black entertainment will go on implementing this innovative production direction,“ BET’s Connie Orlando stated.

“At BET, we place the health and safety of attendees, staff, vendors, and partners first, which is why the biggest night in black entertainment will go on implementing this innovative production direction,” Orlando added.

While the award show will take place, BET has announced that the weekend events leading up to the show have been cancelled. Customers can gain refunds upon cancellation.

The BET Awards will air on BET on June 28, 2020 at 8 p.m. Nominees will be announced in the coming weeks.
