Mississippi Valley State Head Coach Vincent Dancy will join Deion Sanders at the University of Colorado Boulder next season as an analyst.
“We are thankful to Coach Dancy for his service to MVSU,” MVSU President Jerry Briggs said, per HBCU Gameday.
“He has served Valley in various capacities, a coach, a leader of young men, and a mentor to countless individuals throughout his time. He will always be a part of the Valley family and we wish him well in his future endeavors.”
Dancy has managed to amass a record of 10-38 during his time in Delta, Mississippi despite having financial and scholarship limitations. Last year, Dancy and the Delta Devils upset the SWAC West Champion Prairie View A&M Panthers in Texas. This season, Mississippi Valley State won two of its last three games.
Joining Dancy, Charles Kelly left the University of Alabam for Boulder and Sanders. After recruiting the likes of Caleb Downs, Kristian Story and Will Anderson Jr. to Tuscaloosa for three years, Kelly will become the defensive coordinator at the University of Colorado. Rounding out the new staff in Boulder, Willie Taggart, Sean Lewis, Bill O’Boyle, Andre Hart and Tim Brewster are expected to coach alongside Sanders next season.
