Zach LaVine 2015 Slam Dunk Contest
Minnesota Timberwolves rookie guard Zach LaVine stole the show at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York during the 2015 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest that was a part of All-Star Saturday night for 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend in New York.
LaVine started the night while wearing a Michael Jordan ‘Space Jam’ jersey and properly titled his first dunk of the night, which was a between the legs reverse jam, the ‘Space Jam Dunk’.
For Zach LaVine’s second dunk, he threw down the behind-the-back slam that got the crowd off their feet again and continued to prove his skill.
As Lavine easily advanced to the Final Round of the Dunk Contest he had to do something to combat his first round of dunks.
His first dunk of the Final Round was a between the legs jam with an assist from his teammate, Andrew Wiggins which was nice but it lost its luster compared to the first round dunks.
LaVine closed the show with another assist from a teammate when he got Shabazz Muhammad to bounce the ball off the stanchion, behind the backboard, to go between his legs and turning his body in the process to win the title.
LaVine is the second youngest competitor to win the title at 19 years old. Kobe Bryant was the youngest, when he won it in 1997 at the age of 18.
