Kobe Bryant’s Muse
When it comes to the legend Kobe Bryant, there are always many questions that surround his legacy. In the Showtime special Kobe Bryant’s Muse, a lot of those questions are answered.
Many wondered why Kobe didn’t take the route of publishing a book. Bryant gave an explanation to Los Angeles Times, Greg Braxton.
I didn’t want to write a book — I don’t have the patience to do that. We wanted to create something really different, very truthful. Cinematically, we wanted to do something that would be different from the ways documentaries are shot. This was about doing something that was fun, but also honest.
Kobe takes everyone on a journey throughout his early years living in a foreign land, his life as a young star athlete all the way until he becomes the man he is today. He also goes in depth concerning some personal issues as well as talking about his recent string of horrible career-threatening injuries.
Some think Kobe is done, others think that Kobe can come back better than ever but before you worry about his future, he gives you a little look at his past and how he got to where he is now.
Is Kobe close to retirement? We may not yet know but this documentary could be the first step in Kobe’s progression towards that moment and if it does come, at least we know what ‘The Black Mamba’ will be doing. Filmmaking will obviously be his call in his post-NBA life.
