Kyrie Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers faced off against the San Antonio Spurs in the nightcap of the doubleheader on TNT on a Thursday night.
The main story was LeBron James facing off against his personal long time rival, the defending Champion San Antonio Spurs. James was 1-6 in his last 7 games coming into this contest with San Antonio and with the way LeBron and the Cavs have played as of late, everyone was expecting a collision between James and new rival, Kawhi Leonard.
While we got the matchup we all wanted to see there was one man who stole the show and that was All-Star Kyrie Irving.
Irving scored 57 points, he broke his own Cleveland Cavaliers record and holds the NBA season-high scoring, for the second time this season.
Irving played 47 minutes, shot 20-32 from the field, 7-7 from three-point land, 10-10 from the free throw line with 5 assists, 4 steals and 3 rebounds and this amazing stat from ESPN’s Tom Haberstroh.
