Kris Dunn was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the fifth overall pick on Thursday. Billed by many as the third best player in the class, Dunn will have high expectations as another in a long line of young talent in Minny. Luckily, it appears Minnesota is where he wanted to go all along.
But before his career officially begins, Dunn looked back at his past. Immediately after shaking the commissioner’s hand, Dunn spoke with ESPN’s Lisa Salters. In the interview, Dunn spoke about what the opportunity meant to him. Dunn spoke about his mother who passed away and the chance he now has to support his family. The Providence product called it “one of the best feelings ever.”
Coming from a tough background in his family, Dunn is now able to live out his dream. Kris Dunn will have plenty to prove on the basketball court but it will be difficult not to root for him as he goes on this journey.
