As always, the pick-and-roll between John Wall and Nene worked to perfection as Wall found Nene for a dunk where Greivis Vasquez tried to contest, but really had no chance. The pick-and-roll is obviously the go-to offense for the Wizards as they have one of best frontcourt duos in the entire league. It’s hard to have a team that can guard one of the Washington bigs, but it’s nearly impossible to find a team that can guard both.
Wall was second in assists behind Chris Paul during the regular season. Wall is one of the best in the league of finding cutters and open men in small spaces.
This combination between Wall and either Gortat or Nene is going to be what guides Washington as far as they can go in the playoffs. Randy Wittman must continue to expose the Wizards size advantage and use it to create for highlight plays like this for fans to celebrate about.
