With the clock winding down and the score tied 109-109, Chris Paul took the game into his own hands by driving to the basket, and taking an unbalanced shot with Tim Duncan’s hand right in his face. Paul managed to get the shot up over Duncan’s reached hands, and banked it in to give the Clippers a 111-109 lead, which went on to become the final score. Paul knew it was his time to shine, and he had to complete the job of finishing off the Spurs.
With the defending NBA champions now down, the NBA will be crowning a new champion this Summer. With Paul continuing to hit clutch shots, the Clippers have to be kept in the conversation to be one of the teams contending for the ring. Los Angeles now moves on to face Houston in the Western Conference Semifinals, which begin on Monday night. The series should be a good one, and could go either way.
