The main event year in and year out during All-Star Saturday night is the Slam Dunk Contest. Fans from all over pack the arena to see the participants put on a dunking display. Given the history of this contest, the participants most incorporate a certain amount of flair and creativity to get the fans on their feet.
Aaron Gordon, a familiar face from last year’s epic contest, tried his hand with an innovative dunk in this year’s competition. Holding a controller, Orlando Magic mascot Stuff the Magic Dragon piloted an Intel Drone carrying a basketball from behind the basket.
The presentation leading up to this dunk was nothing short of amazing and it’s something we’ve never seen in the Dunk Contest before. Now hovering well over the basket, the Intel Drone drops the ball, Gordon lets it hit the ground once and finishes with a between the legs one-handed jam.
Although Gordon didn’t finish this dunk on his first attempt, the pure creativity it took to think of this will make it a dunk to remember.
