Losing a top-tier pass rusher can be a vital blow to any defense. It looks like Vic Beasley will be out for an extended period of time. Beasley led the NFL with 15.5 sacks in 2016. Now it appears the Atlanta Falcons could miss his services for at least a month with a torn hamstring. The tear appears to be minor which will allow Beasley to return to action this season.
Local reporter Zach Klein was the first to give the details on Beasley’s condition:

Beasley was off to a hot start prior to the injury racking up two sacks in his first two contests. Beasley, 25, has been a marvelous pass rusher since being drafted out of Clemson in the first round back in 2015 8th overall. Takk McKinley, Brooks Reed, and Courtney Upshaw will have to take the pass-rushing load until Beasley returns.
The Falcons are set to play the Lions, Bills, Dolphins, and Patriots next on the docket. Beasley will presumably miss those next four games with a bye week in between the Bills and Dolphins games.
