UCLA cornerback Fabian Moreau has been a fast riser during the 2017 NFL Draft process as a potential first round pick come late April. That first round projection might have taken a hit after Moreau will have to undergo surgery to repair his torn pec muscle. The news comes our way via Ian Rapoport & Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
#UCLA CB Fabian Moreau, a possible first-round pick, had successful surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle, per me and @MikeGarafolo

The injury is expected to keep the UCLA product out for 4-6 months. If he is able to recover within that timetable he shouldn’t fall too far down draft boards. Given the overall depth of this year’s secondary draft class, Moreau likely gets selected somewhere in round 2.
Moreau ranked just outside of my top 5 corners in my combine rankings but probably warrants a first round pick. He was extremely effective at the East-West Game which initially sparked his draft stock. Moreau’s 4.35 – 40 yard dash time only caught the attention of more teams that are interested in selecting him.
