In a shocking move, free agent big man Tyson Chandler and the Phoenix Suns have agreed to a multi-year deal. The contract will be over four years for $52 million in total. Phoenix just acquired a rim protecting big man and now it seems they’ll be after an offensive-minded big man. The Suns are part of the multi-team pursuit of LaMarcus Aldridge and will reportedly have Chandler attend the meeting in order to persuade the forward to join the Suns.
Chandler was linked to other teams and it didn’t look likely that he’d remain with Dallas, especially with the Mavericks pursuit of DeAndre Jordan. Phoenix completely came out of the blue and took everyone by surprise. Now if they can land Aldridge they’ll become a legitimate threat in the Western Conference.

The Suns are now more optimistic than ever that they will be able to land LaMarcus Aldridge this summer. They have also possibly started to consider a sign-and-trade deal that would see Eric Bledsoe get sent to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for LaMarcus Aldridge.
