The Texas A&M Aggies have landed the commitment of Virginia Tech Hokies sophomore guard transfer Tyrece Radford. Head Coach Buzz Williams is attempting to rebuild the program in a growing SEC basketball landscape. Radford was a top guard for the Virginia Tech Hokies this past season and should provide an immediate impact on the court. Upperclassmen guards are vital for building programs like Texas A&M. He will likely be granted immediate eligibility and should provide an immediate boost to the program.

Radford will rejoin Buzz Williams, the head coach that originally recruited him to join the Virginia Tech Hokies. During his second season with the Hokies, he averaged 12.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 55 percent and a three-point percentage of 29.2 percent. Those three-point percentage numbers could use some improvement, but otherwise, he is a very productive guard. He should be one of the most impactful players on the Aggies roster when he joins the team.

The Hokies will need to replace the production of Radford after his transfer to the Aggies. Head Coach Buzz Williams is still attempting to rebuild the program he joined after he left the Virginia Tech program. Transfers like Radford are a good way to bridge the gap until Williams can get more of his guys into the program. Radford should be a top player for the remaining portion of his career with the Aggies.
