When you’re talking about music and entertainment in 2020, it’s impossible not to talk about the state of New Jersey. The Garden State is home to everyone from SZA to Joe Budden. More specifically, the state’s largest city, Newark, has produced presidential candidates like Cory Booker and future Academy Award winners like Michael B. Jordan. For years, Newark’s own, Tsu Surf, has been bubbling within the state as a recording artist and top battle rapper. This week, he’s stepped into his own as a critically acclaimed recording artist with his new project, MSYKM.
The New Jersey native has gotten things going this week with the release of MSYKM. The thirteen track project features Jim Jones, G Herbo, Mozzy, Dave East, Benny The Butcher, Lady London and many others. Much like his previous projects, MSYKM showcases the rising artist’s honesty and storytelling ability. Nowhere is this more evident than his collaboration with Jim Jones, “Careful Who You Love.” He also offers a different side of himself on tracks like “Fxcc It.” All in all, MSYKM shows that Tsu Surf is among the best of the best in Hip-Hop today.
