Drake has hopped on “Betrayal” with Trippie Redd from his recently released album, Trip At Knight. On the new track, the Ohio native pulls the Toronto superstar into his world of high octane, energetic production. In this new arena, the GRAMMY winner delivers a staccato flow with a bit of a bounce.
“I swear I been betrayed/One too many times/Too many to count, yeah/All them nights I prayed/Solid how I stayed,” he raps.
As the track develops, Drake turns his focus away from the Ohio native and toward another rapper from the midwest, Kanye West. For weeks, many have suggested that Kanye West was pushing to drop DONDA on the same day that Certified Lover Boy is released. While the Chicago native may be pursuing Drake, the Toronto native confirms that he will drop when he pleases with or without Kanye West.
“All These Fools I’m Beefing That I Barely Know/Forty-five, Forty-four, Let It Go/Ye Ain’t Changing Shit For Me, It’s Set In Stone,” he adds.
After saying all of that, Drake still hasn’t announced when his next album will be released. However, Kanye West has announced that he will hold another DONDA listening event in Chicago this week and his album is expected to drop shortly thereafter. While we wait to see how this all ultimately plays out, check out “Betrayal” from Trippie Redd and Drake.
