Future Hall of Famer Tim Duncan has played in 1,310 regular season games and 234 playoff games in his 17 year career.
Something he has never done in a game, until today, miss every shot he attempted. Duncan was 0-8 from the field, finishing with three points which all came on free throws. This tops his previous “worst” performance after shooting 1-12 against the Wizards back in November of 2013.
Timmy D’s 0-fer really didn’t hurt the Spurs though. He did grab eight rebounds as the Spurs defeated the Bulls 116-105 behind Tony Parker’s 32 point performance.
Even though it’s not the greatest accomplishment to have, with how many minutes and games Duncan has played in his career, It took him 17 years to not make a shot in a game. That tells someone all they need to know about Tim Duncan.
Duncan has been consistent every year he’s been in the league, and while Timmy D is not the dominant player he once was, at 38 years old he’s still one of the better big men in the league.
If that isn’t enough convincing, Duncan also has a legitimate shot to win this years NBA Defensive Player of the Year award. Not bad for a 38-year-old.
