Tiffany Haddish has officially signed on to executive her own stand-up comedy series, Tiffany Haddish Presents: They Ready. The series will consist of a string of half hour comedy specials from women comedians handpicked by Haddish. Chaunté Wayans, April Macie, Tracey Ashley, Aida Rodriguez, Flame Monroe and Marlo Williams have been named as some of the comedians set to appear on the show. Wanda Sykes will also serve as an executive producer alongside Haddish.
In a statement, Haddish wrote, “I am introducing six of my favorite comedians – in my eyes, they are super stars [sic]. The epitome of They Ready.” Netflix noted, “All six comedians were personally chosen by Haddish. She shares a history with each after working together on the stand-up scene or in television.” The streaming service added, “In an industry that too often excludes women, people of color, and LGBTQ performers, this diverse group of comedians, both in style and background, are ready for their time in the spotlight.”
In addition to They Ready, Haddish is working on an animated comedy for Netflix with Ali Wong that is set to be released on May 3rd. Haddish’s latest endeavor has yet to receive a release date.
