Thundercat shares “Dragonball Durag” the second single from his upcoming album.
On his new song “Dragonball Durag” Thundercat sings whimsically, questioning his lady on the freshness of his durag look. Trying to impress her with loving compliments, video games, comic books and an expressive new car, Thundercat returns to the central question “did I tie it right?”
“There are two types of people in the world, the guy with the durag and the guy who doesn’t know what a durag is. The durag is a superpower, to turn your swag on…it does something, it changes you. If you have one in the wardrobe, think about wearing it tonight, and it may pop off because you never know what’s going to happen.” says Thundercat in a statement.
“Dragonball Durag” follows up Thundercat’s first single “Black Qualls” featuring Steve Lacy. His upcoming album It Is What It Is is reportedly due in the coming months. It follows up Thundercat’s 2017 album Drunk. “Dragonball Durag” was produced by Flying Lotus and Thundercat himself, with Dennis Hamm and Kamasi Washington.
