Teyana Taylor may be taking a step back from music at the end of this year, but she’s going out with a bang. Last night, the New York native was named the winner of The Masked Singer‘s seventh season on FOX. Taylor beat out Jennifer Holliday, En Vogue and Shaggy for this year’s title. Now, she will join previous season winners like T-Pain, Nick Lachey and Wayne Brady.
“I was like, this would be something really nice to do and just be able to sing again,” Taylor said about her decision to compete in the show.
“It would be fun again and there’s no judgement. Nobody knows who’s behind the mask. You just get to sing your heart out.”
Following the conclusion of The Masked Singer, Taylor plans to embark on what may be her final tour. After performing at the Something In The Water festival in June, Taylor will travel out to Los Angeles, California for her first show on August 3, 2022. From there, she’ll make her way through, Las Vegas, Denver, Phoenix, Nashville, Boston and several other cities before heading overseas in early September. Her tour will conclude with a performance on September 4, 2022 in Paris, France.
