On February 9, 2025, SZA expanded the deluxe edition of her sophomore album, LANA, to include the following tracks:
- “Joni” featuring Don Toliver
- “Take You Down”
- “Open Arms”
- “PSA”
Given the nature of the internet and fandom within pop culture, the majority of the new tracks had leaked online well before making their way to streaming services. However, the updated versions with professional mixing and sured up production offer a polished feel to previously leaked tracks. More importantly, it sets the stage for SZA’s next chapter.
In addition to releasing four new tracks, SZA also performed alongside Kendrick Lamar during Apple Music’s halftime show at Super Bowl LIX. The New Jersey native joined the GRAMMY Award winner to perform “Luther” and “All The Stars” from the Black Panther soundtrack. This summer, the duo will hit the road for the Grand National Tour. On Monday, the two also added a European leg for the upcoming tour with shows in Paris, London and Rome among other cities.
To top it all off, SZA also starred alongside Keke Palmer in Issa Rae’s One of Them Days. In its first weekend, the film earned second place at the box office, beating out Wolf Man and sitting behind Mufasa: The Lion King. As for the critics, the film’s Rotten Tomatoes score sits at 95% on the “Tomatometer” and 90% of the “Popcornmeter” one month after its release.
