Super Bowl 51 will go down as possibly the greatest Super Bowl in NFL history. It had all the makings of a classic. The underdogs got a big lead in a short amount of time, taking a 21-3 lead into halftime after some crucial defensive plays. Then the dominant Patriots came back and answered the haymakers that the Falcons hit them with early on with slow, methodical play to tie the game late. Then they used one drive in overtime led by Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady to come away with the win.
But the Patriots and Falcons exchanged some big plays all night during New England’s historic comeback. (Or Atlanta’s legendary collapse.) From Julio Jones, masterful catches to the Patriots running backs seeing some great and not so great things happen and of course, the infamous Julian Edelman catch. With one incredible grab off a deflection, past receptions are seemingly erased from the minds of Patriots fans. Overall, there were some dynamic plays from the NFL’s best that made Super Bowl 51 an instant classic.
