In an interview with Sports 360 AZ, Phoenix Suns’ General Manager, Ryan McDonough, was asked who the two-three guys that make up the Suns “nucleus” are. McDonough’s chosen core was strangely lacking their three highest paid players. Eric Bledsoe, Tyson Chandler, and Brandon Knight were absent from the list. It is slightly surprising that the general manager is already openly leaving out Bledsoe.
Although it is common knowledge that the Suns young players will be the future of the franchise. Eric Bledsoe has been the starting point guard for 4 years now. He is, however, one of the oldest players on the roster at just 28 years old. This Freudian slip may prove to be nothing but it seems more likely that Bledsoe may be on his way out.
The Phoenix Suns have one of the youngest rosters in the league. During the back half of the season their starting lineup was actually younger than some college teams left in the NCAA tournament. So, while the Suns are trending young, Bledsoe may have aged himself out of Phoenix.
