The Wake Forest Demon Deacons will finalize a contract extension with Head Coach Steve Forbes after a fantastic season. This news came moments after the announcement that the Wake Forest Head Coach had won the 2022 ACC Coach of the Year Award. The expectation now is Forbes will coach out the remainder of his career with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The program can also boast that they have the 2022 ACC Player of the Year in Alondes Williams.

Steve Forbes’ first year at Wake Forest was rough, but in his second year, the team massively turned things around. The team is not playing on the first day of the ACC Tournament for the first time since 2009 and will likely make the non First Four NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010. A true turnaround for a formerly down program. Overall, Forbes is 29-24 at Wake Forest with a 16-22 ACC record. Before that, he was a stellar Head Coach at East Tennessee State with a 130-43 record there.
Steve Forbes is one of the best stories in college hoops: Let go as part of Bruce Pearl’s staff at Tennessee, had to go all the way down to JUCO, and fight all the way back up.

There is plenty of basketball left to play, but it seems that Wake Forest has its program defining Head Coach now. Moving forward Wake Forest will look to continue to compete near the top of the ACC. The focus now is the 2022 ACC Tournament.
